The President of Universidad Finis Terrae, Cristián Nazer, awarded a recognition to the MERI Foundation, through the donation of the sculpture “Martina I”, a whale tail that was made by the artist Florence Aspee.
At the event, joined by authorities and members of the Board and team of the MERI Foundation, Francisca Cortés Solari, President of Cortés Solari Philanthropy, received a certificate from the University President that acknowledges the donation that the institution made to the Foundation, a meeting point in which art and science are combined for the conservation of biodiversity.
Francisca Cortés Solari, on behalf of the MERI Foundation, thanked the Universidad Finis Terrae for the donation and highlighted the dedication of Florence Aspee, who drew her inspiration from the beauty and majesty of whales.
Currently the sculpture “Martina I” is on display and is part of the MERI Foundation’s exposition “Whales #VocesdelMar Chile” at Centro Cultural La Moneda.
